The Weebly Alternative · For hosting resellers

Square is winding Weebly down in 67 countries. If you’re a hosting provider or reseller, that means contracts you sold are about to go dark. There is a way to keep every one of those customers, upgrade what they get, and raise your ARPU in the same move.

Weebly accounts close in
26 December 2026 is the last day customers can log in and export. After that, the account is gone.

In July, resellers from Dubai to Kuala Lumpur started getting the same email from their upstream. Weebly, the hosted builder Square bought in 2018, was being pulled out of 67 countries. Not a feature retirement. Not a price change. A full shutdown of the platform in those markets.

The dates are already running down. In the affected countries, Weebly stopped publishing new pages in late June. On 27 September 2026, every live site was unpublished. From 26 December, accounts can no longer be opened at all. On 2 January 2027, the lights go off.

Across the rest of the world Weebly Cloud still runs, but the direction is clear. The mobile app came off the App Store and Google Play in December 2025. The editor has had almost no new features since the Square acquisition. Square has been pointing people to Square Online for years. Weebly is coasting, and coasting products tend to end the same way.

What this means if you resell Weebly

If you run a hosting company and Weebly is in your plan tree, you already know the first problem: your customers trusted you, not Weebly. When their site drops, it’s your support queue that lights up. Your renewal that doesn’t happen. Your churn number that moves.

The second problem is quieter. Every one of those customers signed up for a website, but what they actually wanted was presence. A storefront. Something that looked like a brand. A way to be found. Weebly gave them a page. For a decade that was enough. In 2026 it isn’t.

Every Weebly customer bought a website. What they actually wanted was a brand. The shutdown is the moment to deliver what they always needed.

So the move isn’t to find another cheap page builder and migrate everyone sideways. The move is to use the forced migration as the moment to sell the thing those customers always needed, under your own brand, on your own margin.

The migration · interactive

Four steps from a dead Weebly account to a live brand

Click through what the migration actually looks like inside BrandForge, from the customer’s existing URL to a full brand kit they can use the next morning.

Point BrandForge at the Weebly URL

Our importer reads the public Weebly site and pulls in copy, images, structure and the color story. Nothing needs the customer’s Weebly password. Nothing needs the account to still be published. We can import a cached site weeks after Weebly has pulled it offline.

You can do this at scale. Point the importer at a list of your resold Weebly URLs and it processes them in a batch, so your sales team can call every customer with a mockup already waiting in your reseller panel.

The AI rebuilds it, better

The imported site is handed to BrandForge’s design agent. It writes cleaner copy in the customer’s voice, replaces tired stock images with on-brand ones, redoes the layout to be mobile-first, and fixes the accessibility and SEO basics Weebly never cared about.

The customer gets a side-by-side view: old Weebly on the left, new BrandForge on the right. They approve, you charge. Average handling time per migration is a few minutes.

Generate the full brand kit around it

Weebly stopped at a website. BrandForge keeps going. The platform generates a logo set, a color system, typography pairings, a social media kit, email signatures, favicons and open graph images, invoice templates, business card artwork and pitch deck templates. All exportable, all consistent, all tied to the same brand DNA the site is now built on.

For a lot of customers this is the first time they’ve had an actual brand instead of a Canva folder.

Open the add-on shelf

Now your reseller margin lives on a stack, not a line item. Merch on demand drops a webshop next to the site, printed from the brand kit automatically. The AI social media manager posts three times a week in the voice the agent already learned. Review requests, invoice branding, email campaigns, a domain upsell when they want their own.

None of this was possible on Weebly. All of it runs under your name on BrandForge, with you setting the price.

Beyond the website

A Weebly reseller plan sold one thing: a page. BrandForge sells the whole surface area of a modern small business brand, and you pick which parts to switch on in your reseller panel.

Click a chip to see what each one actually does.

The economics for a reseller

Here is the part that matters for anyone running the numbers. A migrated Weebly customer on BrandForge isn’t a side-grade. The ARPU moves because the shelf is deeper and because the AI does the production work that used to make upsells unprofitable to deliver.

Pull the sliders to your own book of business. The calculation runs on the right.

New MRR after migration $4,560/mo

Projection, not promise. Based on your inputs. BrandForge ARPU in the field varies by market, bundle and how many add-ons you switch on in your reseller panel.

Start before December

The practical window is October and November. Resellers who wait until the last week of December will be competing for their own customers’ attention against every other winding-down email in their inbox, over the Christmas holiday.

If you resell Weebly through WHMCS, Upmind, Blesta, Enhance, AdminBolt or WiseCP, BrandForge already has a native integration module. Your billing, provisioning and SSO stay where they are. Only the thing you deliver gets upgraded.
